Resumen:
Acoustic emission is a non-destructive method widely used to evaluate the condition of materials under load. In this work, the failure of a fiber glass/phenolic composite was studied through the acoustic emission analysis in situ in uniaxial tensile tests. AE features as energy, cumulative counts, amplitude were in good agreement with visual observations of the composite modes of fracture during testing. Also, RA value was studied obtaining good results identifing failure modes.
