Resumen:
The influence of oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (o-MWCNTs) on the curing kinetics of a novolac-based nanocomposites was studied by non-isothermal differential scanning calorimetric at various heating rates. A shift to higher temperature of differential scanning calorimetric peak of the nanocomposites respect to that of neat novolac indicate that the presence of o-MWCNTs influence on the resin curing reaction. The calculated activation energy for the sample containing 0.1 wt. % of o-MWCNTs is the highest. In addition, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) revealed that the novolac with 1.0 wt. % of o-MWCNTs improved the char yield after the pyrolysis treatment.
