Resumen:
Benzoxazine has become a well-developed thermosetting resin after more than twenty years research since the study on polybenzoxazine properties was reported for the first time by Ning and Ishida in 1994. It can be readily synthesized by Mannich condensation from phenol, amine, and formaldehyde. The most interesting and unique characteristic of this class of polymers is their extraordinarily rich molecular design flexibility that allows designing a variety of molecular structures to tailor the desired properties. With the advantages of molecular design flexibility of benzoxazine, most researchers focused on designing new benzoxazine structures by incorporating different functionalities to achieve the properties for satisfying their potential applications in the early days of polybenzoxazine development.
