In 2014, both major Latin American HPC Workshops (HPC Latam andCLCAR) joined to form CARLA 2014, which was held in theUniversidad Santa María in Valparaso, Chile. This conference alsoincluded the Third HPC School ? ECAR 2014. Both events wereorganized by the following institutions:. Valparaíso Center for Science and Technology (CCTVal),Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María. National Laboratory for High Performance Computing (NLHPC),Universidad de ChileThe main goal of the CARLA 2014 conference was to provide aregional forum fostering the growth of the HPC community in LatinAmerica through the exchange and dissemination of new ideas,techniques, and research in HPC.  The conference featured invitedtalks from academy and industry, short- and full-paper sessionspresenting both mature work and new ideas in research andindustrial applications. The suggested topics of interest of theconference in- cluded:? Big data management and visualizations? GPU computing? Grid and cloud computing? High-performance computing applications?
