Resumen:
the objective of this work is the thermo-fluid dynamics modelling of a distribution transformer using vegetal (esters) oils and produced by Tadeo Czerweny. The analysis requires the determination of power losses and heat generation. The electromagnetic simulation is taking place in Ansys EM solver and for CFD modeling Code_Saturne is used. A specific interface was created for a weak coupling between both solver. The thermal and electrical characteristics are also analyzed and discussed. The results are compared with respect to mineral oils for both numerical and experimental data.
