Resumen:
Abstract: We present a simulation toolbox for the simulation of electromigrative separations. The formulationincludes all the fields, interaction and effects that configure both electrokinetic and electroosmotic phenomenafor studying capillary and microchip electromigrative separation methods. This simulation toolbox, namedelectroMicroTransport was developed by using the Finite Volume Method (FVM) in the platform OpenFOAM®.The toolbox offers four main novel and outstanding characteristics: (i) native 3D support, (ii) electroosmoticfluid flow solution by using Navier-Stokes equation, (iii) automatic parallel and supercomputing support, and(iv) GNU-GPL license. In this way, we put into consideration of the microfluidic community, for the first time, asimulation tool for a wide range of experimental methods.
