Resumen:
Results obtained during systematic routines for the production of bovine embryos by in vitro techniques performed in a field laboratory were analysed and discussed. The production of oocytes suitable for in vitro fertilisation appears to be affected by the pressure used during aspiration of ovarian follicles and the season of the year. The production of embryos was unsuccessful in one third of the sessions performed, with 50% of them due to avoidable causes. The overall efficiency obtained in the successful attempts, expressed as the percentage of total transferable embryos obtained (morulae and blastocysts), averaged 14%, showing a wide variation among routines (2.8 to 47.5%). Key words: in vitro production, bovine, embryos, field laboratory.
