Mindful learning: meditative state classifier using random forest

Resumen:
Neuroimaging studies have shown a variation in brain activity on subjects who regularly perform meditative practices.A recent work by Braboszcz et al. analysed EEG data obtained from 3 groups of meditators and a control:-Frequency band spectral powers revealed a general increase for all meditative states in the gamma range, suggensting a meditative signature in these frequencies.-Vipassana presented a significant increase in the lower, alpha band.We continued upon this work searching for underlying information from the EEG data. Combining Machine learning techniques with the individual channel electrical signal we hope to validate these findings and find new emerging information lost in the average signal of each spectral band.
