Moreover, antidepressants such as fluoxetine (F) and sertraline(S) are able to modulate immunesystem and thus, tumor prognosis. We havepreviously reported that both F and S are able to prevent chronic stressenhancement of spontaneous metastasis in a murine model of lymphoma. In this context,our aim was to study the effects of chronic stress and of antidepressant treatmenton tumor invasion taking into account the role of anti-tumor immunity. For thispurpose, female C57BL/6 mice were treated with F or S and subjected (E) or not(C) to a heterotrophic chronic stress for five week and subcutaneously injectedwith EL4 cells to generate a solid tumor. Specific cytotoxic activity againsttumor cells was evaluated co-culturing spleen cells suspensions from tumorbearing mice with labeled EL4 cells.
