Resumen:
Introduction: Thyroid cancer (TC) incidence has been increasing within last decades. Numerous studies established that PKCαoverexpression correlates with cancer aggressiveness and therapy resistance. However, its role in TC remains poorly studied. Wehave previously demonstrated that PKCα is overexpressed in TC cells and mediates hormones-induced proliferation through MAPKand AKT. Objectives: To analyze the relationship between PKCα expression levels with clinical and tumor parameters in TC patients. Methods: R2 Genomics Analysis and Visualization Platform (http://r2.amc.nl) analyses were performed on the GSE126729 dataset(n=28); for analyses on the Kaplan-Meier plotter (https://kmplot.com/), cBioPortal (https://cbioportal.org/) and Metascape(https://metascape.org/) platforms, mRNA sequencing data from the PanCancer Atlas TC dataset (n=504) were used. Results: Analysis of PKC family members expression through R2 indicates that PKCα expression is the highest in TC and in anaplasticTC patients. cBioPortal analysis showed a positive correlation between PKCα and MAPK4 (S=0.46, p
