Resumen:
Academic Information Retrieval (IR) systems usually implement its own definitions of entity profiles to store metadata extracted from their indexed content. The integration of diverse entity profile definitions is a major challenge for some kind of IR system, such as the metasearch engines. A metasearch engine must define an entity profile integration strategy in order to present quality results to its users. In this work, we propose an approach to the entity profile integration problem based on the selection of profiles with shared attributes. This approach was tested in a metasearch engine which currently provides services in the domain of Computer Science. Preliminary results shows that the proposed approach enhance the performance of the metasearch engine.
