Resumen:
The aluminum-lithium (Al?Li) alloys were developedwith the objective of obtaining, mainly, low weightproducts in structural elements of planes that was laterjoined by the aerospace industry. They has been developed, among others, by the aeronautical industry due toits special characteristics. In the present research,aluminum-lithium-copper-magnesium alloys were solidifiedunder different conditions of cooling rates. Themicrostructures were observed and measured. To determinethe susceptibility to corrosion, working electrodeswere prepared in different positions along the specimensand cyclic potentiodynamic polarization measurementswere conducted, using NaCl 0.5 M solution at roomtemperature.
