Resumen:
In the present chapter, we will discuss mechanistic aspects of reactions involving hydroxylamine and derivatives which produce HNO as an intermediate, but are normally not used as HNO donors. Inorganic as well as biologically relevant reactions will be addressed. Nitroxyl can be generated from hydroxylamine-derived compounds such as Piloty?s acids and Meldrum?s acids, which are HNO donorsdescribed in detail in Chapter 3.
