Resumen:
The social construction of young people s careers is the result of complex interaction both at a structural and macro-social institutional level as well as a micro-social institutional and individual level. One of the most interesting debates relating to this refers to the way the different structural, institutional and individual dimensions link and also the strength of the impact of each one on this process. In the framework of a research project, this paper starts off with a specific question which refers to how work training programmes make an impact on young people who have completed compulsory secondary school education careers and who come from low social backgrounds.  The study covers the suburbs of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.         The presentation will be  based  the following hypotheses 1) For low resource young people who have graduated from secondary school, providing programmes of approach to the world of work, such as an internship or as basic or continuing vocational training, could mean a rise in their conditions of employability and/or improvement in their chances of reaching good jobs. 2) However, it may also have an impact on the processes of subjectivation which are reflected in the social participation and in the subjective relation with employment and in the career decision making.  3) The technical or general training provided by the secondary school is in tandem with different ways of training for work to understand the trajectories.
