Resumen:
Although ionic liquids (ILs) do not contaminate the atmosphere (due to their low vapour pressure), this does not imply that they are not toxic to aquatic or terrestrial environments. Therefore, before generalisation of their use for different applications, it is necessary to investigate the toxicity of ILs for these environments. Due to its interest in electrochemical applications, research on the electrochemical response of mixtures of ethylammonium nitrate (EAN) with relevant inorganic salts is currently under way. This study investigated the impacts of different amounts of EAN and of lithium-saturated EAN on soil basal respiration in two soils differing in organic matter content.
