Resumen:
This work address dolomitic sand grinding tests, varying the load of material (2kg and 3.5kg) and the residence time in the equipment (30min and 120min) in order to know its influence on the particle cutting diameter of 50% (d50). A pilot scale ball mill and dolomytic sand from a quarry of Buenos Aires?s province was used for the tests. To study the influence of the parameters, an experimental design was carried out with a factorial model 22 and the results were analyzed through the analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results obtained demonstrate a strong influence of the grinding time in the reduction of the cutting diameter d50 of the particles, and not significant differences in the same parameter varying the load of the material to be ground. The present study represents an advance in the knowledge and modeling of grinding processes and classification of particulate material through sustainable processes.
