Resumen:
Theinfluence of shape and size of different particles on their coefficient ofrestitution´s values are investigated in this study. The coefficients ofrestitution (CoR) of three different types of particles were studied. Toanalyze the influence of particle size on the coefficient of restitution, ureaparticles of four different sizes were considered and the existence ofsignificant differences between their mean CoR values was analyzed throughanalysis of variance method. The CoR of lentils, polyethylene and ureaparticles were compared to analyze the influence of particle shape. There is asignificant difference (p-value=0.0132) between the CoR values of urea andpolyethylene. This work represents an advance in modeling and dependence ofparticles coefficients of restitution which contributes an improvement onCFD-DEM simulations of gas-solid systems.
