Resumen:
We have simulated by Monte Carlo (MC) the angular response of different fiberoptic dosimetry (FOD) probes made of YVO 4 :Eu scintillator. Cylindrical-and spherical shaped detectors have been studied. Comparison of the simulations with experimental measurements suggests that symmetry of the detector is critical to achieve isotropic response of a FOD probe. Besides, it seems that the optical fiber only collects the scintillation light from the closest 0.5mm-thick layer of scintillator.
