Resumen:
The research ofblends containing poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) with different thermoplasticspolymers have been an active area in the last years and nowadays. Howeverthe blending of PHB with thermoset polymers is less studied. In blends ofthermoset and crystallizable polymers a competence between reaction inducedphase separation and crystallization can occur, developing a complexmorphology. The blending of epoxy with PHB allows reduce the use of syntheticpolymer by a polymer obtained from biomass.The authors have recentlystudied the miscibility, phase separation and crystallinity in blends PHB/DGEBAand epoxy/PHB. In this work, preliminary results of small-angle X-rayscattering (SAXS) applied in epoxy/PHB samples cured at several times arepresented.
