Resumen:
In the last years, the optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) technique has become a good alternative for radiation dosimetry due to several advantages over other dosimetric techniques (McKeever, 2001). However, a few materials showing promising properties to be applied in OSL dosimetry have been developed. At present, alumina (Al2O3:C) and BeO have shown to be suitable for OSL dosimetry. There is a permanent interest in searching for new OSL materials with good dosimetric properties. In this context, several fluorides has shown very efficient radiation-induced emission when doped with rare-earth cations like Pr, Tb and Sm (Faria et al., 2004; Marcazzó et al., 2004; Marcazzó et al., 2013). Recently, the OSL of K2YF5:Pr3+ and K2YF5:Tb3+ has been studied (Marcazzó et al., 2009; Marcazzó et al., 2011) and it has been found that these doped fluorides show linear OSL response and repetitive dosimetric properties. On the other hand, it has been found that K2YF5:Tb3+,Sm3+ shows good thermoluminescence and radioluminescence properties (Marcazzó et al., 2013). In this work the OSL properties of Tb3+/Sm3+ doubly doped K2YF5 single crystals have been studied and its dosimetric properties have been evaluated.
