In this work, the performance of several criteriafor the interpretation of gases generated in soybean-basednatural ester as a consequence of thermal and electrical faultsare analyzed. For this purpose, a database of collectedinformation from the specialized literature with contributionsfrom various authors is used. The thermal faults that areanalyzed are T1 and T2 type according to IEC 60599classification. The electrical faults are partial discharges (PD)and arcs (D1/D2). The interpretation criteria of dissolved gasescompared are the IEC ratios, Doernenburg ratios, Rogerratios, Duval triangle 1, Duval triangle 3 for soybean-basednatural ester, Duval triangle 4, Duval triangle 6, and CIGREratios.
