Resumen:
In this study, we explore the interference of four indistinguishable photons in the realm of quantum metrology, aimed at designing protocols and measurements to overcome the limitations of classical methods, offering unprecedented levels of precision. To achieve this, we generated correlated photon pairs via the process of Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion (SPDC), resulting in a 31% two-fold coincidence rate and a 50Hz four-fold coincidence rate. Then, we used advanced techniques such as the Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM) interferometer to create a range of states based on their indistinguishability properties (timing and polarization), with a focus on N00N states using single photon pairs and its experimental approximations of the Holland-Burnett (HB) state with four photons. Finally, we incorporate theoretical descriptions of the interference by considering the two-particle and four-particle operators, quantifying the degree of indistinguishability and its impact on measurement precision.
