Resumen:
Heinrothiel/a was laconically synonymized with Heptapsogaster by Hopkins & Clay in 1952: "A synonym of Heptapsogaster''. The two species H. frielingi and H. inexpectata, were studied morphologically in imagoes and nymphs, standardizing the diagnostic features useful for separation from genera included in Heptapsogaster-complex as here intended: Heptapsogaster, Heptarthrogaster, Rhynchotura, Tinamicola, Docophorocotes, Heteropeostus, plus undescribed genera from Eudromine tinamous. As result of our research, Heinrothiella and the above genera were re-characterized and resurrected from subjective synonymies made by those authors. It is morphologically close to Tinamicola due the development, thickness and pigmentation of preantennal nodus. Heinrothiella is promptly distinguished in its imaginal stages from genera of this complex in both sexes by: antennae strongly dimorphic (with strong and short toe-like projection on first flageromere in males); marginal carinae lacking limbal nodes; marginal temporal carina smooth; marginal temporal setae 2 and 3 long and thick, sub-equal; post-temporal setae strongly dimorphic in length; central metathoracic chaetotaxy sexually dimorphic; tergites II-VI lacking "scent-glands" and/or internal incrassation; tergite XI free from IX+X paratergal setae long, 3-8 in number; sternites lacking discrete plates, III-IV bear setae. Studies of this kind highlight an old controversy: unfounded argumentation versus well-founded opinion.
