Resumen:
Carboxylic acids and their derived components like dicarboxilic acids are economically important fine chemicals,. The extraction, fractionation and purification processes of these compounds using supercritical fluids as solvents are attractive alternatives for conventional technologies. A group contribution equation of state that takes into account association effects (GCA-EoS) has been used to model high-pressure phase equilibria of mixtures between CO2 and short chain carboxylic acids. New interaction and association parameters have been determined. In most cases a good correlation and prediction of phase equilibrium conditions was obtained.
