Resumen:
The fluorescence microscopy techniques and thecapability of labeling proteins in the cellular environment withfluorescent tags constitute a significant breakthrough in theway the behavior of cells is studied. Fluorescence correlationspectroscopy and related techniques are extremely useful toolsto measure quantitatively the motion of molecules in livingcells. This article presents the application of scientific highperformance computing techniques to complement thefluorescence fluctuation analysis using stochastic simulation. Aparallel master-slave algorithm is introduced for processingthe output data from microscopes studying cells expressing afluorescent protein. Accurate speedup values are reported inthe experimental analysis of the parallel master-slaveimplementation proposed over a cluster infrastructure.
