Resumen:
he peopling of America is perhaps one of the longestand most controversial debates in world archaeology, one in which South America has played a central role. There have been several competing models for the first peoplingof the Americas, but with the exception of the controversialhypothesis of an Atlantic-Solutrean migration, there is majoragreement among archaeologists and ancient geneticiststhat the first colonizers entered America from NortheasternAsia via Beringia and its shorelines. South America is fundamentalto this basic agreement and is considered the final stepin the colonization of the Americas.
