Resumen:
The recent reform of the Unified National Civil and Commercial Code is going to generate deep changes in the Argentine legal system. The aim of this paper is to analyze their impact in relation to the cultural heritage, especially regarding the public domain status of the archaeological and paleontological heritage. Changes adopted -in contrast to those proposed- in issues related to indigenous communities and the protection of collective rights were also discussed. The latter is the most interested aspect of the reform since its involves a change of vision regarding private property and strengthening the regulatory powers of the state over private property, which is capable of being applied to protect cultural property.
