Growing interest in natural antioxidants has developed due to a need for more effective, less toxic and cost effective antioxidants, and medicinal plants appear to have these desired advantages. The aims of this work were to evaluate the antioxidant capacity and the effect on lipid-peroxidation of aqueous extracts from Rosmarinus officinalis. Infusion and decoction of 5 % w/v were prepared and brain homogenates were used to determine the effect on lipid-peroxidation. Both aqueous extract presented antioxidant activity measured as DPPH, ABTS, TRAP and reducing power assay, and decoction displayed significant higher values than infusion in terms of DPPH (p
