Resumen:
ABSTRACT: Flavonoids, biflavonoids and flavonoid polymers present several very important biological activities such as: antioxidant; antiviral; binding at benzodiazepine site in gamma-aminobutyric acid type A (GABAA) receptors; inhibition of protein tyrosin kinases; antidiabetic; estrogenic; antimutagenic; vasorelaxant properties; and inhibition of the amidolytic activity of human thrombin. This chapter aims to review the main characteristics of these biological activities as well as the existing SARs, bidimensional (2D)-QSAR and three-dimensional (3D)-QSAR studies.
