Knowing the rate of atmospheric electrical activity is fundamentally relevant for human lifeand for infrastructures because these events cause major damages of different nature. In the case ofcountry airports and aerodromes, it is of particular importance on the operation related to ramp closures ondeparting and arriving air traffic and ramp personnel operations in adverse weather conditions.In this paper we will present the AeroRayos project for the protection of workers at the Jorge NewberyAirpark (AEP) in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina. We will present the results of the evaluation of thesystem in the last year, we will show a case study of a storm day at the airport and we will undertake atechnological evaluation of it.
