Resumen:
In this work we report extreme events observed in an all solid state laser, active medium Nd.YVO4 with saturable absorber Cr:YAG and study its features. These kind of lasers (which are compact robust and non-expensive) are used in a wide variety of applications from distance measurement to target illumination.Understanding how these events are formed could presumably lead to its control and improvements in its applicatios. Here we show that in this system appear in low dimensional chaotic regimes of operation as well as several experimental observations that point toward the interactions of many transverse modes as the origin of these events. Fpllowing these indications we present preliminar observations of the pulse to pulse transverse pattern of the spot performed by means of an ultra fast camera in a periodic regime of operation.
