Resumen:
New muliwavelength Raman lidars are being installed at the monitoring nodes of the Argentinean Aerosol Monitoring Network which was created to assess the risks related to the presence of volcanic ashes close to the airports. The collaboration with the National Weather Service who is in charge of the operation of the lidars permits in principle a 24/7 monitoring on request, a close communication with the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre as well as the airports and the airlines. Collocated sun photometric aerosol network from AERONET, nephelometric, DOAS and solar radiation instrumentation in this network complete the synergy between measurements. Lidar instrumentation installed at this monitoring network is described in this paper as well as measurements of ash dust and clouds. Future observation sites related with the expansion of the network due to ongoing projects are also presented.
