Resumen:
We present a photonic implementation of the BB84 protocol, with compactness
and resource-efficiency of the design as the main goals. The scheme is based on faint pulses produced with infrared LEDs, while the polarization state is selected by spatially multiplexing four paths corresponding to the four possible states generated with the pulsed sources. The basis selection at the detection side is done in a passive fashion with a beamsplitter, and all the possible outcomes are detected with only one single photon counter and a fiber time-multiplexing setup.
