Resumen:
Active immunization has been proposed as a new strategy for treatment of advanced Prostate Cancer (PCa). However, few tumor associated antigens have demonstrated to elicit an efficient immune response and moreover, our knowledge about how to perform such immunizations remains incipient. Previously, we postulated Galectin-1 as a novel immunogen in PCa and the potential of a derived peptide to induce a specific T cell response. This work evaluates different conditions of immunization in order to ameliorate such response and establish new immunization protocol bases. In one hand, we decided to study the use of short peptides (CD8-Gal-1 and CD4-PADRE) vs a long peptide (both peptides joined by a cleavable link). In the other hand, we evaluated the adjuvancy doses. The both peptide formulations with the conventional used doses of adjuvants (900mM Poly-U + 25uM CpG) don´t induced specific cytotoxicity while 1/32 lower doses induced 15% for the long peptide vs 2% for the short ones (p
