Resumen:
It has come to our attention in relation to the experiments featured in the publication: Differential endocytosis and signaling dynamics of insulin receptor variants IR-A and IR-B by J. Giudice, F. Coluccio Leskow, D. J. Arndt-Jovin, T. M. Jovin and E. A. Jares-Erijman (J Cell Sci. 2011 Mar 1;124:801-811), that cloning errors identified a posteriori indicate that the constructs of insulin receptor isoform A were of isoform B. Thus the significant differences reported between IRA and IRB must be assumed to be erroneous, possibly having arisen due to improper statistical procedures. The phenomena of insulin binding and the endocytosis and trafficking of the receptor (IRB) are not affected by this unfortunate circumstance. A detailed comparison between certified IRA and IRB is being conducted and will be reported.
