Resumen:
The major attractiveness of the Vaca Muerta Formation as an unconventional hydrocarbonreservoir has aroused the interest of numerous work teams simultaneously. This unit hashistorically been analyzed in several areas of the Neuquén Basin from the geological as well asfrom the paleontological perspective, in outcrops and subsurface, in regional and local studies. The traditional petroleum interest for the Quintuco and Loma Montosa Formations has also beenan incentive for the study of the Lower Tithonian-Valanginian interval.
