Resumen:
The sedimentary facies and architecture of the Puerta Curaco outcrop will be analyzed in this chapter. This classical section crops out 30 km East of Chos Malal, on the provincial route 7, in the Southern sector of the Yesera delTromen and West of Sierra del Huantraico. In this area. The Vaca Muerta Formation has an Early Tithonian - Late Berriasian age. The basal contact is concordant and net with lacustrine facies of the upper member of the Tordillo Formation, where the unit starts with the typical microbial level. The upper contact is transitional to the Quintuco Formation of Early Valanginian age, which is recognized as an increase of silty-sandstone beds with abundant shallowenvironment fauna.
