Resumen:
This special issue of Geo-Marine Letters presentsselected contributions from the 9th InternationalConference on Tidal Sedimentology held on 17?19November 2015 in Puerto Madryn, Chubut Province,Patagonia, Argentina. The guest editors are the conferenceorganizers Roberto A. Scasso and José I. Cuitiño.Gerardo M. Perillo was the head of the ScientificCommittee. The conferences on tidal sedimentologyhave been traditionally held every 4 years. However,only 3 years separated the last conference held inCaen (France, 2012) from this conference. Increasingnumbers of contributions and the growing interest intidal sedimentation have been the reasons for shorteningthe inter-conference period. The 2015 conference servedas a discussion forum focusing on advances in modernand ancient tidal sedimentation at different locationsworldwide. The papers presented in this Special Issueprovide a selective view of the latest research results,the main topics dealing with tidal hydrodynamics andsediment transport, tidal coastal morphodynamics, modernand ancient tidal sedimentation, geotechnical processesin tidal environments, and tidal basins, faciesand reservoirs.
