Resumen:
Low-calcium pyroxene occurs in thebasaltic rocks of the Alta Sierra de Somún CuráVolcanic Complex belonging to different chemicaland petrographical groups. Textural and compositionalvariations of the pyroxene are described,along with the development of reactions rims andcoronaes. The several typologies of low-Ca pyroxeneare evaluated as tools for the petrological evolutionof the host rocks.
