Resumen:
This chapter raises the deep inequality of thecontinent, and seeks to explain some questions about economic inequality and distributivejustice, subjective social class and images of social structure. Although, hepoints out, in recent decades the region has undergone profound transformations(reduction of inequality gaps in the different dimensions of social life and a sharpdrop in poverty-related statistics), it is not said that inequalities have diminished, nor have the parameters of tolerance of inequality and redistributive consensus.
