Resumen:
Metals and metalloids are transferred through the aquatic food web, although only few of them are biomagnified, most elements are biodiluted.Different food webs may have diverse patterns.δ15N must be used to verify the food-web, BUT ALSO TO EVALUATE PROBABLE ANTROPHIC POLLUTION (sewage, manure, etc.).Further research is necessary to verify the use of δ15N as a marker of sewage pollution, including some recommendation on a threshold value for water, sediment, plants, animals.Antibiotics are ubiquitous in aquatic systems; thus, aquaculture must consider their presence and removal to ensure safe and healthy fish for human consumption, avoiding antibiotic resistance in microorganisms, humans, etc.
