Resumen:
It has been recently shown that fold and thrust belts developed both in Cordillera Principal and Cordillera Patagónica are polycyclic, exhibiting one neogene structuration phase and other previous between Late Cretaceous and Eocene. This work is focused in a structural transect along the Blanco river, located in the Cordillera Principal in northwestern Mendoza Province. A geological and structural survey was performed on the area aiming for the construction of a coherent structural section. The belt on this sector consists in 3 thrust with north-south strike and west dip, and 2 east-verging folds. On the other hand, an angular and erosional discordance has been identified between upper and lower cretaceous units, which provides evidence towards the hypothesis of cretaceous uplift at these latitudes.
