Resumen:
In the present contribution, the Paleozoic sedimentary meta-sedimentary sequences are analyzed, in the western region of the Frontal Cordillera (31º30´S-70 ° 15´O) San Juan and Mendoza province; and its stratigraphic relationship with the Paleozoic age Granite. We also analyze the correlation of these Paleozoic deposits, with their similar ones from the region of Punta de Vacas and Polvaredas, in the Mendoza province, all of which would form the westernmost border for the Gondwana block times. The study region is located along the border between Argentina and Chile, west of the Santa Cruz mountain range, La Ramada, Espinacito, Aconcagua hill, Punta de Vacas and Polovaredas, in the San Juan and Mendoza provinces (31º30´S-70°15´W), and covers the geological provinces of the Frontal and Principal Cordillera. The area is located in the Frontal and Principal Cordilleras, at the southern end of the subhorizontal subduction segment (Cahill and Isacks, 1992).
