Resumen:
The western Precordillera mafic- ultramafic belt partly consists of mafic granulites (layered gabbros) retrograded to greenschist facies metamorphism. The compositionally homogeneous high- grade assemblage suggests that granulites have reached temperatures of ~880ºC. Whereas the low- grade mineral association indicates a retrogradation to greenschist facies with a high pressure component evidenced by the presence of phengite.
