Resumen:
The study of climate during the Late Holocene is one of the most remarkable scientific challenges of our time. Sequences of lake sediments are excellent sources of information because they usually provide continuous and detailed records of paleoclimatic changes. The Pampas Plain is one of the most important  region in Argentina, because of it economical and demographical development. Agriculture and agro-industries are the bases of it economical development. Agriculture is stronlgy dependent on water resources and climatic condition  so the study of Holocene climate variability in high frequency scales is a research of social impact. However, the environmental history of the subtropical plains of Southern South America have been hampered by the paucity of completed and well-dated paleoclimate archives. Moreover, despite the large number of lakes in the Pampa, few paleolimnological  studies have been carried out in the region, and studies that have been done usually employed only one climate proxy in the sediment record. This study is carried out on core BR4 collected from Lake La Brava, Argentina (37º52´S 57º59´W), an elongated lake of about 4.5 km2. It is a shallow, tectonic lake located at 69 a.s.l. in the Tandilia System. The basin of the lake has the higher slope at the West, near of Sierra La Brava, and an elongated depocenter with a small elevation in the North (3.5 m depth).
