Resumen:
A special treatment is needed to describe single or multiple ionization of atoms and molecules by two or more successive photons, because theoretical and numerical difficulties occur when a spatially non-decaying driven term appears in the Schrödinger-like non-homogeneous equation for the scattering wave function. The simplest of such situations is the two-photon double ionization of Helium. The imposition of adequate asymptotic conditions and how to extract the ionization amplitude are two major theoretical challenges that we propose to tackle within a Generalized Sturmian Functions methodology.
