Resumen:
The coarsening dynamics of cylinder-forming block polymer in thinlm deposited on a prepatterned substrate made of well-ordered blockcopolymer monolayer was studied in experiment. During thermal an-nealing, the shear-aligned bottom layer remains undisturbed and acts asa periodic external eld that stabilizes the orientation of those domainsthat share its orientation. These experimental results are motivations forus to study the stability of the block copolymer thin lm system againstthe formation of holes and islands by self-consistent eld theory. We de-termine the optimum thickness of multilayers of cylinder-forming blockcopolymer system. The results are in qualitative agreement with exper-imental ones. The thickness of a stack of two monolayers is not at theoptimum thickness condition, it is very close to equilibrium. These re-sults indicate that it should be possible to propagate order in thick blockcopolymer with appropriate control over single self-assembling polymericlayer.
