Resumen:
Impact between components can trigger, accelerate or influence the damage to equipment due to fatigue, fracture or wear.  Some variables are difficult to measure during impact experimental test due to the low contact time  and vibrational effects, making it ideal for computational modeling. In the case of viscoelastic materials, it seems important to analyze the combination of elastic and  viscous effects on impact response, since they may change the general behavior of the component. This work is aimed to determine, quantify and compare the mechanical response to impact of viscoelastic materials, focusing on dissipated  energy during the process. The system under study will be a disc of the material against a rigid semi-plane.
