Resumen:
In this work we present the catalytic behaviour of Ni-Cu/Ce0.9Zr0.1O2 catalysts with different Cu and Ni contents under excess methane atmospheres, as it is the prevailing condition in SOFCs’ anode chamber. The support (ZDC) was synthesized by the glicine/nitrate combustion process. Ni and Cu were incorporated by the incipient impregnation method from the corresponding nitrates ethanol solutions. After calcination at 1000°C samples C1 (CuO(60wt.%)/ZDC), C2(NiO(60wt.%)/ZDC) and C3(CuO(30wt.%)-NiO(30wt.%)/ZDC) were obtained. Sample C2 presented an excellent catalytic performance at temperatures between (720-750)°C. Nevertheless, catalyst C3 exhibited an overall excellent performance for the POM in a wider range of temperatures (600-750)°C and seems like a promissory alternative to be used in IT-SOFC anodes as it also contains a considerable amount of Cu to enhance electronic conductivity.
