Resumen:
In this presentation I argue that mentoring is one way to comply with the the special ethical obligation of professors and researchers to communicate knowledge effectively. I draw my argument from Kant's analysis of the nature of scientific knowledge and Newton's exemplary case in his Lectures on Ethics. According to my reading of Kant, recognizing our connectedness and finitude as humans generates an ethical obligation to communicate knowledge effectively in people appropriately motivated by an ethical stance.
